MISS EARTH ENGLAND 2022

Beth Rice

Home Town: Ipswich, Suffolk

Occupation: Project Lead in Clinical Research

Beth’s advocacy started through volunteering with local conservation groups and learning more about the climate crisis. From this, she realised she hadn’t learnt enough at school to prepare her for the issues we are facing, and so decided to set up her own workshops - The Climate Scientist - to educate young people on climate change. She also petitioned to implement quality climate education in the curriculum, co-wrote a climate champions toolkit with Care About Climate and started a framework for teachers to include climate education in their lessons. During her time as Miss Earth England, Beth completed 69 appearances and competed for three weeks at the Miss Earth International finals in The Philippines.

Following her reign, Beth has been fortunate enough to be invited to Ghana by the reigning Miss Earth Ghana, Eunice Nkeyasen, to launch ENEF foundation, which works to educate and develop future leaders. She spent two weeks in Ghana, meeting the 32 children in the programme, environmental agencies and press for the launch. In 2023, Beth was given the opportunities to attend the MockCop Summit for education and COP28 in Dubai, representing young people of the UK. She is now also the official coach for the Miss Earth England competition, through her pageant coaching company, ‘Rise To Reign’.
